Signia offers both instant-fit and custom in-ear routes. Silk Charge&Go IX is the ready-to-wear option, while Insio IX and Insio Charge&Go CIC IX provide custom-made shells for suitable ears and hearing profiles.
These devices may all sit in the ear, but they solve different fitting problems. The most discreet option is not always the most comfortable, easiest to handle or most acoustically appropriate.

Discretion can be a valid goal, but we still need enough physical space and acoustic headroom for a safe, stable fitting.
We compare the visual goal with the hearing goal. A patient who wants near-invisibility may still prefer a slightly larger custom device if it is easier to handle or provides a better acoustic fit.
Likewise, Silk can be attractive because it is ready to wear, but a custom Insio may sit more securely in an unusual canal. The decision is made after otoscopy, hearing testing and a discussion of what matters day to day.

Silk Charge&Go IX is a ready-to-wear CIC-style device. It uses flexible sleeves and may also be coupled differently for selected ears, but the hearing-aid shell itself is not manufactured from the individual ear impression in the same way as Insio.
IIC devices are designed to sit deeper and be less visible, while CIC devices are generally a little larger. The exact size and visibility depend on the patient's canal anatomy and the components required inside the shell.
Sometimes a small custom device can provide useful output, but severe losses often require more acoustic power or a different coupling strategy. We do not promise a device size until the audiogram and ear have been assessed.
They can be more exposed to wax and moisture because the electronics sit inside the ear canal. Regular cleaning and wax-filter maintenance are important.
